Tools required:

Buy this cartridge rather than refill it.
  1. Pry the cartridge cap off with a knife by scoring the seam.
  2. Once the cap is removed, you can see the three fill holes.
  3. Remove the cap from the correct color ink bottle and insert the needle through the fill hole.
  4. SLOWLY squeeze the bottle injecting ink into the cartridge.HP49 color fill holes
  5. Go SLOW or the ink will mix in the printhead.
  6. DO NOT OVERFILL.
  7. Replace the cap on the ink bottle and blot away excess ink.
  8. Tape the cartridge cap back on the body. An airtight seal is not necessary.
  9. Install in the printer.
